Africa, after being on a safari in 5 different countries.

Elephants, Serengeti, Tanzania

Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania:

One of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. It is like an illusion with 600 metres walls forming a natural fence in which thousands of animals live as if it were a dream. It is the main reason to go there. We could also see there a black rhinoceros, not usual at all.

Tarangire Park, Tanzania:

It is full of tsetse flies, with a river always full, therefore it has fauna during the whole year, mainly elephants and zebras. Apart from the flies, it’s worth it.

Masai Mara or Massai Mara Park, Kenya:

The continuation of the Serengeti on the North. A beautiful landscape with all kind of animals. Just like in Tanzania but much cheaper. Besides, they have fixed camping tents for a very reasonable price, with warm water. It is impossible to go on your own, like in the majority of Kenya. The political situation and the worst roads in the world make advisable to go on a tour. They are fixing them now, but who knows when they will be finished.

Wildebeest migration, Masai Mara, Kenya

Mount Kenya, Kenya:

The second highest peak in Africa, 5400 meters, with a very special shape. It’s worth it going only if you find a good offer at the Serena Hotel. It is a chain of luxury hotels in the East of Africa whose mission is to “to offer the highest standards…, which will exceed the level of our guests’ expectations”, and in their hotel at Mt Kenya they really achieve it. Breakfast with champagne, rooms with a balcony and view to the pond, bunker with a viewpoint in the middle of the waterhole, a decoy for wild cats and leopards, alarm 24 hours a day to catch sight of the animals of your choice, etc.

Nakuru Lake, Kenya:

Famous for its Pink flamingoes, but you will find even more at the Manyara or Ngorongoro lakes. Here, however, since there is less and less water, they prefer to migrate to the South. What they have is many white rhinoceros; so many that they are not so interesting anymore. It is said that this is one of the best places to see cheetahs, but we are still looking for them. The best thing is that is close to Nairobi and you can sleep in a hotel bed since you have the city of Nakuru right next to it.

Amboseli, Kenya

Amboseli Park, Kenya:

It would be a desert if it wasn’t for the melting of the Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa that, although is in Tanzania, brings life to this park. Without a doubt, it’s worth seeing it, not only because of its special shape, but also because it looks like an apparition in the middle of nowhere. The elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other animals around here are just an additional gift. Nobody agrees on when is the best moment of the year to see it without any mist, it is better if you stay a couple of nights to make sure. If anybody wants to climb it, he must do it from Mosha in Tanzania. Five or six days and being in good shape is all you need. The travel agencies make it so easy that make the Sherpas from Himalaya look like apprentices.
