Brief description: for us, one of the most beautiful and best preserved Buddhist temples we have ever seen. Bulguksa Temple was built in 751, the structure of its buildings, doors and walls presents authentic works of art on wood. In addition, it contains several national treasures, such as the Dabotap and Seokgatap pagodas that sit in front of the main hall, Daeungjeon. The temple is usually also decorated with beautiful flowers and lanterns, which makes it even more magical. And its situation in the mountains is absolutely bucolic. Simply a must do in Korea.

Hours: 07.30-17.00 (until 18.00 from Mar-Sep).

Cost: 5.000W over 19 years old, 3.500W 13-18 years old, 2.000W 7-12 years old, free under 7 years old.

How to get there: take bus 10 or bus 11 which is faster (1,300W, 45min). There are several stops around the city, ask at the nearest hotel. Get off at the Bulguksa Temple stop, which is located in front of the parking lot. From here you can go up to the temple using the right hand side ramp that leads to the main entrance. It is also possible to take a taxi from Gyeongju directly to the temple (25min, 18.000W).
