Visit to Kinkakuji Temple (Temple of the Golden Pavilion):

 Templo Kinkakuji (Templo Dorado)

  • Brief description: is one of the most famous temples in the city and, as its name indicates (Golden Temple), the Kinkakuji external walls are lined with gold. Unesco declared it a World Heritage in 1994. It's a great example of the Zen architecture and geomancy, which consists of organizing the items so that the energy and spirit flow of the surroundings, is optimized. The reflection of its golden walls in the pond and the beautiful natural surrounding scenery will leave you speechless. You will experience an atmosphere of Japanese Buddhism in their gardens covered with symbols and elements of this doctrine. The Kinkakuji temple is a place full of peace and beauty that will not leave you indifferent.

  • How to get there: take a left turning upon leaving Nijo Castle and walk along the pavement until you reach the bus stop. Take the No. 12 or No. 101 and get off at the Kinkakuji Temple (30 min. - 230¥).
