- Brief description: geisha district. Shopping area with thousands of shops and restaurants. The best thing to do is to pick up a map at the hotel and wander the streets.

- Observations: the street parallel to the river (Shirakawa channel) is the most famous. Geishas in their traditional costumes can be seen here.
- How to get there: on leaving the Kinkakuji Temple, walk along the same pavement on the right until you reach the bus stop. Take the number 12 to the stop Gion (45 min. - 230¥).
