Visit Ueno Park:

Note: this visit is dispensable, in case you thing the day is too tight, it is better to focus on the other visits. But if you are traveling in April and it is the cherry blossom week, you cannot help going (see special section on the "Practical Information" area). 

  • Brief description: large park, famous for its numerous museums, lakes and temples. We suggest taking a walk through the park and visiting Tokyo National Museum, which is the largest and oldest in all Japan. It is home to a great collection of Japanese treasures and items of culture.
  • Duration of visit: 2 hrs.
  • Opening times: from 9.00-17.00 except on Friday and Saturday ait closes at 21:00 and Sunday closes at 18.00. Closed on Monday and on New Year's Day.
  • Cost: 620¥ for the permanent exhibition.
  • How to get there: go back to Tsukijishijo metro station and take the Toei Oedo line back to the station of Ueno-okachimachi (45 min.- 260¥).
