Where to eat: Beijing Restaurants

Strolling and dining at Quian Hai Lake:

Arriving to the lake on Di'anmen Dongidajie Street, you'll see an area with lively restaurants and bars. We recommend eating dinner in S'Silk. They specialize in Yunnan cuisine. The noodles with shrimp and rice omelette are delicious (the fish, which comes from the lake, is a bit bland and not worth getting). Around 70CNY per person.

At least one night, we recommend trying the famous Peking Duck, also called lacquered duck, in a first-class restaurant where the prices remain scandalously low. Lively street with shops, bars and cafes. Great atmosphere. Somewhat removed from the centre, but worth it. If you want a break from Oriental food, we recommend Bar 66 (you can't miss it; it's sponsored by Carlsberg). If not, you can always have a beer and rest your feet for a minute!
