How to transfer from Venice Airport

From the airport to Venice:

  • European Union citizens do not need to do any kind of paperwork when arriving at the airport. The rest will have to fill in the entry form that is given out at the airport and handed in to immigration.
  • Pick up your luggage and go to the HelloVenezia / VeniceConnected transport offices. There you can obtain your vaporetto tickets (see "Get around" section) and a map of the city and public transport.
  • If your plane is arriving at Marco Polo airport, take the number 5 bus. In 20min the bus will leave you in the Piazzale Roma (8€ one way, 15€ return). Tickets can be purchased at Hello Venezia / Venice Connected offices.
  • If you arrive at Treviso, take Barzi bus, which will leave you at Venezia Tronchetto stop in 40 minutes (10€ one way, 18€ return). Buy tickets directly on the bus or online. It is also possible to take the ATVO bus (12€ one way, 22€ return), but it drives through secondary roads and the ride takes 70 minutes.
  • From Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto station, take a Vaporetto and get off at the stop which is nearest to your hotel.

Getting to the airport to take the return flight:

If your flight leaves from Marco Polo (VCE), the best thing to do is to take the number 5 bus in the Piazzale Roma. It leaves every 30min from 04.40 to 00.30 and takes around 20min. The price is 8€ one way and 15€.

If you are flying with Ryan Air from Treviso airport, take the Special Ryanair bus that, coinciding with the flight timetable, goes from the Venice bus station (Piazzale Roma ) and arrives at the airport 70min later (12€ one way, 22€ return). It is also posibble to take the Barzi bus, which leaves from Tronchetto station and takes only 40 minutes.

We recommend arriving at least 2 hours before flight departure!
