Walk a section of the Camino de Santiago (St. James' Way):

Hacer un trocito del Camino de Santiago

We suggest walking a small section of St. James' Way, which leads pilgrims from the gates of the city to the Cathedral, the so-called " St. James' urban way ". Though you'll have to do it in the opposite direction, starting at the Cathedral, you'll cross numerous pilgrims coming from the French, English or Northern routes and be able to see in their faces the joy of finally arriving to Santiago, in some cases after an 800-kilometre trek. Also note the golden shells on the sidewalks marking the route so that the pilgrims never get lost (the same shells, only in this case ceramic, can be found along the hundreds of kilometres of the different routes).

Follow Calle Acibechería to Praza de Cervantes. Here take Rúa das Animas and then Rúa de las Casas Reais until you come to Porta do Camiño. Start heading down Rúa de San Pedro, which eventually becomes Rúa dos Concheiros. At the end of Rúa dos Concheiros, crossing Avenida de Lugo, you'll see the "pulpería" (restaurant that specialises in octopus) Os Concheiro, a classic that is very popular among locals and pilgrims arriving to the city and which we strongly recommend.

This walk is 1.2 km long, or about 30 minutes on foot.
