Port Olimpic:

Port Olimpic, Barcelona

Built as the hub for sailing events in the 1992 Olympic Games. Today, aside from being a marina, it has become a tourist and leisure centre of the Catalan capital. Here you can walk and eat along the beach.

To eat, we recommend Bestial, part of well-known Barcelona chain Tragaluz. We like their creative Italian cuisine but especially the original style of this seaside restaurant facing the beach. The mushroom risotto (12€) and small wood-oven pizzas (10€) are very tasty. 20-25€ per person. It is on Carrer de Ramon Trias Fargas 2, right below the Frank O. Gehry fish. Metro: Ciutadella-Villa Olímpica (line 4). Reservations recommended (932 240 407 or via email: reservas.bestial@grupotragaluz.com).

A more traditional option is L'Escamarlá: Perfect for enjoying a paella or fideuá at reasonable prices in front of the sea. We're crazy about their paella perelada (28.60€ for 2 persons) and fideuá (24.60€ for 2 persons). The small fried fish (6.50€) and baby squid (12.50€) are also excellent. 25-30€ per person. Technically not in the Olympic Port but on Avinguda Marítima, in front of Bogatell Beach. Closest metro stop: Ciutadella-Villa Olímpica (line 4). Reservations recommended (93 221 13 66).
