Qingtiangang Grassland:

Quingtiangang Grassland Recurso

Quingtiangang Grassland is the most popular and scenic area in Yanmingshan National Park. It is incredible how in less than an hour from Taipei one can find this landscape more typical of the English countryside or New Zealand than of Taiwan. In addition, the views of the city from Mount Zhugao are also very beautiful.

We recommend starting the trail at the Visitor Center and doing the Circular Trail, which is 2.4km long and takes approximately 1h (as you will be making stops and having a picnic, it may take you about 3h). The incline the whole way is pretty gentle, and it only gets a little steeper to climb Mount Zhugao, but it's easy to do with the kids.

Along the way you will see that there are buffalo grazing and bathing in the mud puddles. They are not dangerous, but better not to disturb them!

When you get to Mount Zhugao (which is the volcano that gave rise to this entire meadow), you have to deviate a bit from the road and continue behind a kind of tower that there is to see the views of the city.

How to get there: you can get there by car, but get there early because the parking lot fills up soon. If you prefer public transport, take the subway to the MRT Jiantan station (red line) and here take the S15 bus that takes you directly to Qingtiangang (30 NTD, 45 min). This bus runs every 30min on weekends.
